These Granny Smith Apples are grown on Lucy and Chris’s cool climate farm near Wollomombi, NSW. They have not been sprayed or treated with any pesticide, only mulched with lucerne hay and netted to protect from birds. Due to the wet weather we have an excess! But also, plenty of water damage on the exterior of the apples which makes them rather unsightly.
Granny Smith Apples are an old variety of apple, firm, crispy and tart in flavour. They have one of the highest vitamin and mineral contents and the lowest sugar content of any apple variety. Great for snacking, baking or drying.
I can personally attest that these apples taste great despite their ugly exterior. Being a frugal creature, I can’t bear to see them go to waste. So please take them off our hands when you order some beef! Bags of 6 or 10kg boxes can be added to your beef order free of charge.
